Racial divisions in South Africa are the fruits of an apartheid system of dividing people by colour.
Race is nothing but a social construct and useful for nothing other than political gain. It is a tool to manipulate the masses, on either side. To continue dividing people by race is to keep apartheid ideologies alive. We are one race, living in a multi cultural, multi ethnic, multi linguistic society. Each of these points of diversity should be celebrated, included and elevated.
It's easy to blame the "whites" or the "blacks" because that's how we're are taught to look at people. It's harder to look beyond skin tone, at the things that matter: heart, character, language, cultural nuances, history, beliefs and values. But we must choose the harder, narrower path if we are ever going to solve our problems.
