Born in South Africa, raised in Ethiopia a decade in Asia and now in the Western Cape. I find there is no true place on earth to call "home". I come from what is often referred to as the "third culture" - neither here nor there. It is through my Christian faith that that I find my true identity in Christ; recognizing that I am but a stranger and alien who's ultimate citizenship is in heaven (Hebrews 11:11-16)
The "Forenji" moniker captures the essence of this identity, an Amharic word by which I was called in my years growing up in Ethiopia - most often used to point out a foreigner or outsider.
